Fireworks mishap in Ocean City, Maryland

OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND – Folks, leave the fireworks to the professionals today. On that note, a fireworks display readied for the Ocean City fireworks spectacular went off early for unknown reasons. Police and firefighters responded as thousands on the beach and boardwalk watched the event unfold.

“The Ocean City Police Department and Fire Department personnel are on scene of an unintentional discharge of fireworks on the beach in the area of Dorchester St. Please avoid this area to allow the first responders to safely work. We will provide updates as they become available,” The Ocean City Police Department said.

Emergency personnel were on scene at the premature ignition of the Ocean City fireworks display.

Ocean City firefighters responded to the area of Dorchester Street after the explosions at the city’s fireworks display. One worked reportedly suffered minor injuries.
