Man charged after walking around fully nude near child summer camp

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Havre de Grace Police Department received a call for service where an adult male was seen in the area of Hutchins Park, 100 Congress Ave. Havre de Grace, MD 21078 walking around fully nude.

Officers responded to the scene and were alerted that approximately 25 youths ranging in age from 7 years of age to 16 years of age who were participating in a summer camp were in view of the naked adult male. Officers arrested the male within minutes in the 200 block of North Washington Street just a short distance from where he was originally sighted. The male who was identified as John Francis Hankins was placed under arrest.

John Hankins was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he is charged with Indecent Exposure. We are thankful for the camp staff who immediately alerted us which led to John Hankins’s quick arrest.
