Teen shot last week in Macon has died from his injuries

MACON, GA – A 19-year-old who was shot during an altercation on Dewey Street in Macon has died from his injuries.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault that was reported to have occurred in the 1200 block of Dewey St. The incident took place on July 7, 2021, at 1:07 p.m. According to witnesses, there was an altercation between two individuals. During the altercation, one individual was shot by gunfire.

The wounded male, 19-year-old Marquez Card, was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Card later died of his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office at 3:03 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
