Massachusetts driver killed in crash on White Horse Pike

ABSECON, NJ – A Massachusetts man, Christopher Burtt, 58, died from injuries after being struck by a vehicle just after midnight at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and Station Avenue.

Officers responded to the call Sunday, July 12, 2021 and located the pedestrian and vehicle involved. Investigators learned that a 2008 GMC Envoy, operated by Dipesh Patel, 46, of Galloway was traveling west on U.S. Route 30 and struck the 58-year-old man as he was crossing the intersection.

The investigation is on-going, however, preliminarily it is believed the pedestrian crossed against the traffic signal. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated.
