If Jack Ciattarelli defeats his opponent Phil Murphy in November, he said he will cut the governor’s progressive gender-based studies and sexual orientation curriculum from the public school agenda. Ciattarelli was referring to a law Murphy signed last year that even teaches about an-l to children in middle school.
Ciattarelli said in a video captured by New York City’s Gothamist that he would put an immediate end to Murphy’s Department of Education sexual education curriculum changes enacted last year. He also said the state’s LBGTQ curriculum goes too far and he would also roll that back.
“You won’t have to deal with it when I’m governor but we’re not teaching gender ID and sexual orientation in kindergarten,” Ciattarelli said. “We’re not teaching sodomy in sixth grade and we’re going to roll back the LGBTQ curriculum that goes too far.”
Ciattarelli said he was triggered on a recent visit to a bank when he saw there was an LGTBQ bank card available, but did not have any issues with other group-themed bank cards such as veteran cards, locale-based cards, and club membership themed cards that are widely available.
