TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has enabled his COVID-19 corps to walk neighborhoods across New Jersey with a mission to deliver information to counter social media disinformation. As part of a national plan set forth by the White House to combat “misinformation” about COVID-19, the goal is to encourage more Americans to get vaccinated.

Today, Murphy released information regarding COVID-19 breakout cases in New Jersey, cases where individuals who were fully vaccinated contracted COVID-19. In some cases, those breakout patients required hospitalization and dozens have died.

4,432,769 New Jerseyans have been fully vaccinated Murphy reported on Monday. There have been 3,474 reported of COVID-19 cases among the fully vaccinated population. Of those, 84 required hospitalization and 31 had died.

That represents a 99.92% efficacy rate among vaccinated people in the state and shows that the vaccines are 99.9993% effective in preventing COVID-19 deaths.
