Cleveland Indians change name to “Guardians” to comply with wokeness

The Cleveland Indians are no more. After more than a century with the name and mascot, the team is dropping their name and becoming the Cleveland Guardians. The team announced the new name on Twitter, saying it will take effect immediately after the 2021 season.

The Indians mascot has come under fire and the team dropped the iconic Indian logo after complaints, but now, they are changing their name.

“We’re moving forward with change,” the team said. “There’s always been Cleveland. That’s the best part of our name and now it’s time to unite as one family, one community to build the next era for this team and this city. To keep watch and guard what makes this game the greatest.”
