Clark County detective, Marine Corps veteran shot and killed sitting in car

VANCOUVER, WA – Clark County Sheriff’s Detective Jeremy Brown, 46, was shot and killed Friday while conducting surveillance at an apartment complex in Vancouver, WA.

Apartment residents called 911 after finding Brown had been shot in the chest while sitting in his vehicle. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The prime suspect in his murder has been apprehended along with two others who were present. Det. Brown had served with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for 15 years and was assigned to the Clark-Vancouver Drug Task Force. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had previously served with the Washington State Department of Corrections and the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office in Montana.
