Do you recognize this suspect wanted for carjacking?

ASPEN HILL, MD – Detectives from the Major Crimes Division and the 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit continue to investigate a May 20 theft from auto in the area of Aspen Hill and a June 28 attempted carjacking that occurred in the 4900 block of Aspen Hill Road in Silver Spring.

Detectives are releasing surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The following incidents were reported to police:

On Thursday, May 20, residential surveillance video shows the suspect checking vehicle door handles to see if the vehicles were unlocked. The suspect gained access to the unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole property.

On Monday, June 28, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the investigation by detectives determined the male and female victim were sitting inside their parked vehicle at the 4900 block of Aspen Hill Road. The victims were approached by the suspect. The suspect demanded money and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Investigators believe that the vehicle theft and carjacking were committed by the same suspect.
