Germantown man shot and killed in his home by intruder

GERMANTOWN, PA – A 31-year-old man called 9-1-1 to report that an intruder was breaking into his home. When police arrived, 31-year-old Louis Sanchez was dead.

According to police, detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division have identified the victim in Monday night’s Germantown homicide as 31-year-old, Louis Alfredo Sanchez, Jr. of Germantown. On Monday, August 16, at approximately 7:27 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call for shots fired in the 21000 block of Futura Court.

The homeowner contacted ECC reporting that an intruder was attempting to enter his home by force. The homeowner then allegedly shot Alfredo Sanchez, Jr. Officers from the 5th District responded and located, Alfredo Sanchez Jr. deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of death.

This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation. At this time, the homeowner is not facing any charges. No further details are available at this time.
