Border agents seize 11 pounds of cocaine at Laredo Port of Entry

LAREDO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers seized cocaine in one enforcement action that totaled over $88,000 in street value.

“In an effort to secure our Nation’s borders, CBP has implemented enforcement strategies that have furthered the disruption of dangerous drugs entering the country,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, when a CBP officer referred a 2015 Honda Accord for a secondary examination. Following a canine examination, CBP officers discovered a total of 11.50 pounds of alleged cocaine concealed within the vehicle.

The narcotics have an estimated street value of $88,740.

CBP seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
