A 60-year-old man had a seizure and fell from the subway station platform and onto the tracks below. The New York Police officer nearby, knowing the train was less than a minute away jumped down to the tracks and pulled the man to safety. Seconds after they were on the platform, the train arrived.
“NYPD cops help New Yorkers at any cost! When a sick strap hanger lost consciousness and fell on the subway tracks in the Bronx, @NYPDTransit officers didn’t hesitate for a moment to put his safety ahead of their own. We’re also grateful to the Good Samaritan who bravely helped,” New York Police Department said.
A second officer flashed his light at the incoming train to warn the conductor of the trouble ahead.
“What they do exemplifies what New York City officers do on a daily basis, they help their communities and they genuinely love to create a bond between police and the public, in this case saving a life,” said Capt. Gregory Mackie.
