Woman charged for illegal firearm in Boston’s South End

BOSTON, MA – At about 8:51 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Officers from District D4 (South End) made an onsite firearm arrest of an adult woman from Hyde Park, MA, at Clarendon Street and Stanhope Street.

Officers received a radio call for drug activity occurring inside of a U-Haul in the area of Clarendon Street and Stanhope Street.

Upon arrival, Officers located the U-Haul and observed the female walking towards the vehicle with the rear compartment and drivers’ doors open. Officers approached her and requested she provided identification. The suspect was found to have multiple outstanding warrants and was placed into custody. Officers additionally recovered a loaded firearm from the U-Haul and ammunition from the suspect’s person.

The firearm recovered was a 9mm handgun with one round of ammunition.

She was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The suspect was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
