One dead in Fort Pierce shooting, no suspect yet

FORT PIERCE, FL – Sheriff Ken Mascara announced that deputies and detectives are investigating a shooting homicide that took place early Saturday morning and left 22-year-old Akiefe Jamal Anderson dead.

According to Chief Deputy Brian Hester, at approximately 2:45 a.m., deputies were patrolling Harbor Pointe Park located on Avenue M Extension East in Fort Pierce.

“Deputies discovered Akiefe Jamal Anderson near his vehicle with a single gunshot wound,” said Chief Deputy Hester. “Anderson was transported to a local hospital where he unfortunately was pronounced deceased,” Hester said.

Deputies learned that there had been a large party in the park, but currently have no suspects related to this incident.
