Suspect wanted for brutal beating of elderly Columbus COTA bus driver

COLUMBUS, OH – A 68-year-old bud driver was severely beaten by the man pictured here and now police are asking for your help to identify him.

On September 3, 2021, at 9 am, the 68-year-old victim of this incident was operating a COTA bus in the area of Alum Creek Drive and Thimbleberry Drive.

A COTA dispatcher noticed that the bus had not moved in a while and called to have the bus checked out.

The victim was located and found to be suffering from serious injuries to his face, at which point the Columbus Police were called to the scene.

Further investigation revealed that aside from being assaulted, some of the victim’s personal property was missing. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The suspect was last seen walking northbound away from the scene.

The suspect was described as: male, black, approximately 5’10” tall and 150 pounds. The suspect had dreadlocks with light brown ends, wearing a white T-shirt with the words “Ohio Runs Boxing” printed on it.
