Columbus woman charged for her July murder of Eric Jackson

COLUMBUS, OH – 27-year-old Brittany J. Weldon has been identified and arrested for her role in a July homicide.

On July 2, 2021, at 5:29 am, Officers were dispatched to the area of 650 Van Buren Dr on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, John Doe M/B, lying in a grassy area to the West of 650 Van Buren Dr, unresponsive.

The victim was pronounced dead at 5:31 am.

The victim of HOMICIDE 2021-0101 has been positively identified as Mr. Eric Jackson M/B/49 YOA. At the time, investigators believed that an argument ensued between the victim and suspect that led to gunfire.

Investigators expect additional charges to be filed at a later time.
