New Jersey man charged for rape of 11-year-old in Suffern, New York

ORANGE, NJ – A suspect who has been identified in the rape of an 11-year-old child in Suffern, New York has been arrested in Orange, New Jersey.

In February of 2021, the Suffern Police Department received a complaint of a sexual assault of a 11-year-old victim that occurred within the Village of Suffern.

“Through the investigative efforts of our Detective Bureau and other law enforcement agencies, a suspect was identified and located in Orange, NJ. The investigation led to an arrest and criminal charges against the suspect,” the Suffern Police Department said.

On September 22nd, 2021, the suspect Santos L. Santana-Quintanilla age 40, pleaded guilty to Rape in the 1st degree. His guilty plea carries a sentence of 11 years in prison, 20 years post-release supervision, and must register as a sex offender when released from prison.
