Atlantic City man gets just 10 years for raping 5-year-old cousin on multiple occasions

MAYS LANDING (ACPO NEWS) — A 36-year-old Atlantic City man was sentenced Thursday before Judge Bernard DeLury for the ongoing aggravated sexual assault of a 5-year-old who was in his care, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

Eliseo Jiminez Ramirez was sentenced on one count of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault today before Judge DeLury to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with an 85% period of parole ineligibility subject to the No Early Release Act.  Judge DeLury denied a request by the defense for a reduced sentence of 8 years. Jiminez Ramirez will be registered under Megan’s Law, Parole Supervision for life and he is to have no contact with the victim.

Jiminez Ramirez pleaded guilty on July 6, 2021, to first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault.

The Aggravated Assault offenses occurred in 2015 to 2016 where Jiminez Ramirez committed aggravated assault against the victim, his 5-year-old cousin at her home while she was in his care, through acts occurring on more than one occasion.
