Small crowd greets Barack Obama in New Jersey for Phil Murphy rally

NEWARK, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy hosted former U.S. President Barack Obama and for what seemed like it would have attracted huge crowds in a hero’s return, the crowd at the event was lackluster.

Several hundred people joined Murphy and the former President at a rally in Newark and the crowd at the Newark Central High School football game the night before was even bigger.

“I’m here today, New Jersey, because I believe you will make the right choice,” Obama told the crowd. “I believe you’re going to show the rest of the country and the world that we’re not going to indulge our worst instincts… We’re going to move forward.”
