Baltimore Police Make Arrest in Shooting of 17 Year-Old

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – On November 5, 2021 at approximately 11:08 a.m., a 17 year-old male was shot in the 3600 block of Park Heights Avenue. The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

Investigators learned that the victim gotten into an altercation with the suspect when the suspect pulled a gun. The two struggled over the gun when it discharged, striking the victim. Northwest District Shooting detectives investigated this incident and were able to identify the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

On November 11, 2021 detectives arrested 21 year-old Michael McDowell and transported him to the Northwest District where he was interviewed. Ultimately, McDowell was transported to Central Booking here he was charged with 1st Degree Attempted Murder. Michael McDowell is being held without bail until his trial.
