Newark police seeking to identify theft suspect

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect who was captured on surveillance video stealing a gray mountain bike on November 22, 2021.The victim, in a theft report filed with the 3rd Precinct, told police that at approximately 3:40 a.m. an unknown male took the bike from the backyard of a home on Van Buren Street.

While detectives investigate this incident and seek the public’s help with identifying the suspect, Director O’Hara urges anyone with information to call the Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
