Boston PD Recovers Loaded Firearm and Arrest One Suspect in Shooting Incident

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – About 3:37 PM, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force along with Massachusetts State Police made an onsite arrest resulting in the recovery of an illegal firearm.

Officers were responding to the area for a call for shots fired where two suspects fled the scene on a scooter in the area of Walk Hill Street and Canterbury Street in Roslindale. Officers observed two males on a scooter in the area of Ferndale Street and Norfolk Street and activated their lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop of the scooter.

The driver of the scooter refused to stop for police and collided with a parked motor vehicle at the corner of Talbot Avenue and Bernard Street. The passenger, later identified as Eryne Pierre, 20 of Dorchester, jumped off of the scooter and fled on foot. Officers observed the suspect running with a firearm in his right hand and then observed him throw the firearm over a fence on Kerwin Street. Officers apprehended the suspect and recovered the firearm which was determined to be a loaded Glock 43 with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine. The driver of the scooter was able to make his escape.

Eryne Pierre was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
