EDINBURG, TX – Edinburg Police were called out to the 3800 block of Sarah Evans just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021 in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound lying dead in an alleyway. The man has been identified as 23-year-old Anthony Maldonado. Witnesses told investigators they heard several gunshots and then saw a black car, possibly an older model Chevy Malibu, speeding from the area turning south on MonMack Rd.
