Lakewood apartment fire displaces multiple families

LAKEWOOD, NJ – A fire on Saturday afternoon raged through an apartment building in Lakewood’s Crestwood Manor leaving twenty families without homes for the holidays. The first call came in at 1:17 pm.

Four units were destroyed and several others had major smoke damage that prevented the victims from returning after the fire was extinguished.

The Red Cross of New Jersey set up a temporary shelter for victims at Lakewood High School.

A video of the fire was posted to YouTube by Jersey Shore Fire Response.
