California town declares itself independent from Gavin Newsom’s draconian executive orders

OROVILLE, CA – A town in California has declared its independence and ratified itself as a “Constitutional Republic” earlier this month in a protest of Governor Gavin Newsom’s radical and draconian COVID-19 policies.

The city council declares itself independent from any executive orders issued by the State of California.

“Any executive orders issued by the State of California or by the United States federal government that are overreaching or clearly violate our constitutionally protected rights will not be enforced by the City of Oroville against its citizens,” the city’s declaration of independence reads.

In reality, the order doesn’t have any legal weight and Mayor Chuck Reynolds said in an interview with the East Bay Times, “It doesn’t change anything. “It’s simply reminding people what kind of government we live under and that they do have personal choices and freedoms.”
