Teens arrested stealing police bait car in Brittany Hills

COLUMBUS, OH – On Monday, at 1:28 am, Zone 4 patrol officers aired they had a black Toyota sedan take off from them in the area of Brentnell Ave. and Holt Ave. in the Brittany Hills area.

Other officers from Zone 4 were quickly in the area as was CPD’s helicopter. The 14-year-old motorist was attempting to drive through alleys while the helicopter was overhead. The vehicle crashed in the alley near a detached garage in the 2100 block of Parkwood Ave.

Both teens were apprehended after a short foot chase and charged with Receiving Stolen Property. Officers did a fantastic job communicating, no injuries were reported by the suspects or officers. The second suspect, the 15-year-old passenger, was arrested on December 3, 2021 for stealing a bait car.
