Three shot, one dead in Rockville shooting

ROCKVILLE, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the December 19 homicide that occurred in the 13000 block of Ashby Road in Rockville.

Sunday, at approximately 3 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and located three adult victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Two of the victims appeared to be suffering from non-life-threatening apparent gunshot wounds. The third victim had an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. All three victims were transported to area hospitals. The victim, suffering from the gunshot wound to his upper body, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Danis Alcides Salgado-Mata of Rockville.

This is an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
