No charges in death of 60-year-old man who stabbed family member with scissors then died

COLUMBUS, OH – On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 4:11 pm, Columbus Police Officers were called to the 1600 block of Rose View Dr. on a report of a disturbance.

On arrival, officers found 60-year-old Bobby Nesbitt unresponsive. CFD Medic 815 transported Nesbitt to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased at 5:28 pm.

The investigation revealed that Nesbitt was involved in an altercation during which he stabbed a family member with a pair of scissors. After the stabbing, the family member restrained Nesbitt.

While being restrained, Nesbitt became unresponsive. The family member who restrained Nesbitt remained at scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has ruled Nesbitt’s death a homicide. No charges have been filed, this case will be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office for review.
