New Jersey records nearly 40,000 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Department of Health reported nearly 40,000 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. 31,391 positive PCR cases were reported and 7,203 new antigen tests came back positive as the omicron surge continues to infect unvaccinated, fully vaccinated, and boosted New Jerseyans.

The state’s rate of transmission was 1.71 and 52 new deaths were reported. The DOH reported 5,464 hospitalizations and 362 patients on ventilators.
