Suspect charged for December shooting murder in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – On December 28, 2021, at 5 pm, Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Markison Ave. on a shooting. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located the victim inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Grant Hospital in critical condition. Despite receiving lifesaving medical treatment, the victim succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced deceased at 5:31 pm.

The victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending positive identification and next of kin notification. Investigators are still attempting to identify the circumstances surrounding this incident.

On January 10, 2022, murder charges were filed for the arrest of the suspect of 37-year-old Ricky D. Jobe. On January 11, 2022, SWAT Officers arrested Jobe without incident. He was processed and transported to the Franklin County Jail

The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Darold Reese.
