New Jersey State Trooper injured after being rear-ended by drunk driver on I-80

Allamuchy Township, NJ – A New Jersey State Trooper suffered minor injuries in an overnight crash Sunday morning when a drunk driver crashed into his vehicle on I-80. The crash happened at 3:40 am in Allamuchy Township.

The trooper’s patrol car was struck from behind by a Ford Explorer driver by Dennis Clark, 25, of Salyorsburg, Pennsylvania. Clark was arrested and charged for DWI, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and assault by auto.

The trooper was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital on Sunday.
