Houston police investigating after decomposing body found on Elder Street

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 1100 Elder Street about 11:15 a.m. last Friday (January 14).   The identity of the victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.   HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Rivera and D. Hobson reported:   HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased male in a tent at the above address.  The victim was found in a beginning stage of decomposition.   An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined the man sustained blunt force trauma to the head and neck area.   At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects.
