Police respond to shooting in Paterson, victim taken to hospital

PATERSON, NJ – At approximately 5:08 p.m. on January 20, 2022, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Governor Street and Carroll Street in Paterson, New Jersey after a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victim was located.

A short time later, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 23-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey via private vehicle seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
