Bay County man killed in early morning crash on U.S. 231

PANAMA CITY, FL – A Bay County man killed in an early morning traffic accident on U.S. 231 has been identified.

Vincent Lee Linton, 30, was struck and killed around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning crossing U.S. 231 to the northbound side of the highway. He was struck by a Ford pickup truck traveling north approximately ½ mile north of the intersection of Star Avenue and U.S. 231.

Officers with the Panama City Police Department and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded and Linton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Homicide Investigators conducted their investigation, rerouting northbound traffic down Star Avenue. The major highway was closed for nearly four hours while the initial investigation was conducted, including the collection of evidence by Crime Scene Investigators.
