Police seeking to identify Griswold bank robber

GRISWOLD, CT – Connecticut State Police are seeking to identify a suspect for a bank robbery in Griswold on Tuesday.

At approximately 3:00 pm, Troop E Troopers responded to the Eastern CT Savings Bank, located at 1 Slater Ave., Griswold, CT for a reported bank robbery. The accused is a male, approximately 6 feet tall, 230 pounds, possibly in his 50’s or 60’s, wearing a dark knit hat, a surgical mask, blue flannel shirt with a dark grey tee-shirt underneath, and grey work pants. The accused presented the bank teller with a note demanding money.

No weapon was displayed. The accused fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Troop E Eastern District Major Crime Squad has assumed this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Clachrie at 860-848-6532.
