DIXIE COUNTY, FL – On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at approximately 5:00 pm, deputies responded to the area of NE 811th Street near Gornto Springs for a report of human remains found in a wooded area.
Deputies confirmed the remains were human and contacted the DCSO Criminal Investigations Team.
The Dixie County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Scene Unit and the Medical Examiners Office.
