Multiple people killed in crash on Bel Air Bypass, police report

BEL AIR, Md. – The Harford County Sheriff’s Office, reporting from Bel Air have announced the shut down of the Bel Air Bypass. A crash with multiple fatalities was reported shortly after 1:40 p.m. in the area of Rock Spring Road.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement, but provided no further details.

“TRAFFIC ALERT! Avoid the Bel Air Bypass! It is closed in both directions in the area of the Harford County Detention Center. Maryland State Police are investigating a serious crash,” HCSO reported.

The road is expected to be closed for several hours.
