SILVER SPRING, MARYLAND – A $3 Diamond Bingo scratch-off gave a Silver Spring resident a startling surprise.

When she showed the game to the clerk at Riggs Grocery in Riverdale, he assured her the lucky instant ticket really had given her a $30,000 top prize. She won on the last of the four bingo cards on the scratch-off when the matching numbers on the card created an “X” shape.

The Diamond Bingo game still has two unclaimed top prizes along with 52 $1,000 unclaimed prizes. The game went on sale in July and is one of five bingo-themed scratch-offs ranging in price from $3 to $20.

Riggs Grocery, located at 5405 Kenilworth Avenue, will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $30,000.
