Chicago man who shot and killed 12-year-old boy arrested in Wisconsin

CHICAGO, IL – A 21-year-old man who shot and killed a 12-year-old boy after discharging his illegal firearm in Chicago went on the run, but was captured by police in Wisconsin. Fugitive Jaran Hughes of S. Yale Street shot and killed a 12-year-old boy back on January 2nd before fleeing from justice.

Chicago Police today reported Hughes was arrested on Tuesday, in Racine, Wisconsin. He was identified as the offender who, on January 2, 2022, discharged a firearm in the 5500 block of S. Aberdeen (7 th District), causing the death of a 12-year-old male. The offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly. No additional information is available at this time.
