Police investigating overnight shooting in Silver Springs

SILVER SPRINGS – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting incident that occurred during the overnight hours from February 7 to February 8, in Silver Spring.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., on February 8, 2022, 3rd District officers responded to the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive to assist with a Fire Rescue call with an unconscious victim. Upon arrival, officers determined that the victim was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe that the incident occurred outside and only a short distance from where the victim was located.
