HARRISBURG, PA – Police in Harrisburg have charged Gregory Greene, Jr., 31 of killing two and injuring three others in a domestic violence incident on Liberty Street. Afterward, Greene led police on a chase that injured a police officer and caused the crash of a school bus.
Police were notified by a bloodsoaked Brittonie Meredith who Greene had shot multiple times. Upon entering the home, officers discovered the bodies of Tyler Thames and Meridith Greene. Two children 6 and 7 were also found with stab wounds.
During the chase, Greene struck a bus full of students on their way home from Mount Cavalry Christian School in Elizabethtown. There were no injuries among the students.
Greene had a criminal history that included statutory rape of minors in 2012. Last month, Greene’s sister Brittonie Meredith requested and was granted a restraining order against him after he punched her in the face. He was charged with violating that order. He was arrested and spent 30 days in jail before being released last Wednesday.
“On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, at about 7:00 am, the Harrisburg Police responded to the 1300 block of Liberty St for a report of a person in distress. Upon arrival officers located two deceased individuals and three wounded individuals inside of a residence, all suffering from signs of an assault,” Harrisburg police said. “Officers rendered aid to all of the wounded individuals and they were transported to local hospitals for advanced medical care. A homicide investigation was immediately initiated and a person was interest was identified. The person of interest was later apprehended and is currently in police custody. The investigation is ongoing at this time.”
