ISLAMORADA, FL – A 59-year-old Islamorada woman was arrested Thursday for pushing another woman out of a moving pickup truck. Rita Donna Price was charged with battery. Sgt. Gregg Johnson and Deputy Nestor Argote responded to the area of Mile Marker 90 at approximately 2 p.m. after a motorist witnessed a woman fall out of a truck.

The 56-year-old victim told Sgt. Johnson and Deputy Argote she was arguing with her sister, Price, and asked Price to stop so she could exit the Toyota Tacoma. The victim stated Price slowed the vehicle, punched her in the face, and pushed her out of the still-moving vehicle. Staff at Mariners Hospital stated the cuts and bruises on the victim were consistent with falling from a moving vehicle. The witness corroborated the victim’s version of events.
