Man killed in overnight stabbing in Trenton

TRENTON, NJ – Trenton police are investigating an overnight stabbing. At this time, a suspect has reportedly been detained.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating an early morning stabbing on East Hanover Street that left one man dead, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, Trenton police were dispatched to an apartment in the 200 block of East Hanover Street on the report of a male stabbed.  Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, identified as Antwone Barnes, 37, of Trenton, with a stab wound to the chest.  He was pronounced dead at the scene and a suspect has been detained.
