Woman stabbed, shot fired at Edgewood gas station

EDGEWOOD, PA – A woman was stabbed at the Edgewood Get-Go gas station and a male accompanying her fired shots at the attacker early Sunday morning, according to police.

According to the Allegheny County Police Department, “At approximately 3:25 a.m. on March 20, 2022, County 9-1-1 was notified of a stabbing and shots fired call in the 1500 block of South Braddock Avenue.

“First responders found an adult female stabbed in the shoulder during an altercation near the Get-Go gas station,” APD said in a statement. “The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.”

According to an initial investigation, police said a male, accompanying the female victim, fired a shot at the stabbing suspect during the altercation.

That person has been detained by police.

“ACPD detectives are initiating the investigation and will present their findings to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office to determine if and what charges are appropriate,” the department said.
