Baltimore Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department announced that they made an arrest in the July 5th shooting death of a 37 Year-Old Man.

According to detectives, β€œAt approximately 3:54 p.m., two adult males were shot in the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Avenue.37 year-old Keith Hughes, Jr. was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he died a short time later. Homicide detectives assumed control of the investigation and later identified 32-year-old Ernest Smith as a shooter in this case.”

On March 22, the Warrant Task Force arrested Ernest Smith, on the 3100 block of East Monument Street. He has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Ernest Smith currently remains at Central Booking, where he is waiting to see a court commissioner.
