Alexandria Police Suspect Murder After Victim Found Dead on Sidewalk

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Police in Alexandria say a man found dead on the sidewalk Wednesday morning is being investigated as a murder case.

“On Wednesday morning, the Alexandria Police Department received a call for service at approximately 6:50 a.m. in the 4500 Block of Raleigh Avenue for a person who was lying in the bushes and unresponsive,” the department said.

That man was later identified as 25-year-old Elijah Williams. His body was found near the Foxrun Apartment Complex.

“Upon arrival officers discovered, Elijah Williams, 25 years of age, City of Alexandria resident deceased on the sidewalk near one of the residences in the area,” the department said. “The Medical Examiner ruled this death a homicide due to upper body trauma.”
