WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – With prom season coming and students getting their new drivers’ licenses, the Wall Township Police Department visited Wall High School to speak to the junior class about the dangers of impaired driving.
On Friday, members of The Wall Township Police Department instructed the entire junior class at Wall High School during health classes in the importance of safe driving, effects of alcohol and drug use, and the consequences of driving under the influence.
“Sgt. Jack Gramlich of the Patrol Division, Sgt. James Cadigan of Professional Standards Unit, and Juvenile Investigation Unit members Det. Steve Swenson and Det. Ty Hughes taught Wall Townships’ newest drivers on how these types of substances change driving behaviors and on the specific laws that restrict their licenses,” the department said in a statement. “Students were then put through practical exercises with fatal vision goggles that give them the senses of an impaired person to reinforce the importance of smart choices. The Wall Township Police Department is committed to the safety of all our residents especially the education of our youngest.”
