Greene Township Dollar General Robbed at Gunpoint by Apologetic Suspect

GREENE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an armed robbery of the Dollar General located at 8948 Wattsburg Road, Greene Township, Erie County on Saturday.

Police reported the robbery occurred at around 9:24 pm when a white male suspect entered the store through the front door and proceeded to the animal food aisle where he selected a bag of cat food.

“He paid for the cat foot with cash at the register and then brandished a black handgun and pointed it at an employee,” the agency said. “He demanded the cash in the register and said he didn’t want to hurt her.”

The employee handed him $355.68 and he exited the store through the same entrance.  He apologized to the employee before leaving.
