Twin Brothers Killed in Trenton House Fire

TRENTON, NJ – A 3-alarm fire on Carteret Avenue in Trenton has claimed the lives of 20-year-old twin brothers who became trapped on the third floor of the home. The fire was reported at 6:53 pm. It is believed to have been started by a candle.

I am praying for this family who lost two sons tonight. This is heartbreaking and we will do everything we can to support to get through this,” Mayor W. Reed Gusciora said in a statement.

Two other occupants of the home made it out safely and four firefighters were injured during a collapse inside the structure.

“One firefighter sustained burns and three sustained injuries due to a structure collapse. Their conditions were stable at time of transport”, Trenton Fire Director Kenneth M. Douglas said.

The names of the victims were not released.
