Uber Customer Assaulted and Robbed Moments After Being Dropped Off in Hanover

HANOVER, MD – A person who was dropped off by an Uber driver in the area of Penzance Way in Hanover was assaulted and robbed shortly after getting out of the car.

According to the Anne Arundel Police Department, on Monday, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Penzance Way in Hanover for a citizen robbery.

“The victim reported being dropped off by Uber in this area to locate a friend’s residence. While on foot, he was accosted by an unknown subject and struck in the head with a handgun,” the department said. “The suspect stole miscellaneous property from the victim and then fled.”

The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
